The workplan below will be executed in cooperation with the ISPRS Student Consortium (SC).
WORKPLAN FOR 2008/2009
- Re-organization of the WG and SC webpages, harmonization of the contents of both pages, update and improvement with relevant information.
- Publishing of SC Newletter: preparation of Editorial plan, purchase of adequate software for producing the Newsletter, get new active contributors.
- Recruiment of new WG and SC members.
- Preparation of financial plan, actions to get financial support within and outside ISPRS (incl. letter to potential sponsors).
- Organization of Summer School in Poland: " Natural environment management, monitoring and conservation ", 13 – 17 July 2009, Faculty of Forestry, Warsaw University of Life Sciences – SGGW and of the 1st ISPRS SC Conference on the same topic in Warsaw, 18 July 2009 (with proceedings and possibly a special journal issue in Poland).
- Participation of student representatives at IGSM, April 2009, Zurich.
- Participation and organization of special activities at ACRS, 2009
- one activity in N. America. Activities in Geomatica 2009, Cuba.
- Actions for publishing a special issue of the ISPRS Journal.
GENERAL WORKPLAN FOR THE PERIOD 2004-2008
- Improvement and continual maintainence of the WG and SC webpages
- Maintainance of membership database, communication with members
- Development of membership network and recruitment of new members in all regions, esp. in areas not well represented in the past (North America, Latin America, Africa, Australia).
- Coordination and support of regional and national activities.
- Coordination and cooperation with relevant international, regional and national organizations.
- Regular publishing of the SC Newsletter (digital form), four issues a year.
- Publications (possibly a special issue of ISPRS Journal)
- Organization of Summer Schools:2009: Warsaw, Poland
- Organization of scientific and social activities of youth in different ISPRS and related organization events (tutorials, dedicated lectures, panels, social activities for youth, ...): ISPRS Commission Symposia, ACRS, African GIS and AARSE Symposia, Selper Symposia etc. Organisation of at least one event in N. America
- Acquiring sponsors, cooperation with the ISPRS Foundation and Congress Director to financially support youth to attend Summer Schools and ISPRS events.
- Organization of Youth Forum and other student related activities during the next Congress in Melbourne.
- Participation in meetings of IGSO and other Geomatics-related student meetings.
